The BlackBerry keyboard lives on in this new Android phone. It’s the feature that makes Google Apps such a joy to use, and it’s also the reason why Android devices have been able to gain such momentum in recent months. The BlackBerry keyboard is one of those features that is so integral to using Android. The key travel distance, combined with the responsive touch screen is one of the most highly praised features of the phone. It’s the one thing that makes Android so different from iPhones and other smartphones.
If you take a look at the home screen on the BlackBerry Priv, you’ll see that the keyboard app is the only one of the lot that is comprised of actual content. It’s a neat trick by BlackBerry to get users accustomed to the new layout, which also helps with legibility as you can simply hide or reveal the keyboard by swiping the screen up or down. This works particularly well when the keyboard is positioned above the home button on the bottom right corner of the device. BlackBerry’s UI for this particular keyboard app is a very clean and simple affair, and it really looks like it should really be part of Android instead.
There are, however, a few downsides to this keyboard, namely the fact that it’s limited in terms of how much text it supports and the fact that you can’t type using quotation marks. That said, this isn’t a major concern for most users. The BlackBerry Priv does support BBM, or Blackberry Messenger, which is an instant messaging program. It also comes pre-installed with BBM, and this means that you won’t have to download or install anything to get started.
BlackBerry Messenger is an excellent way to stay in touch. You can also use it for chatting with your friends. The BlackBerry Priv includes a decent list of supported apps, including some heavy hitters like Google Maps and WordPress. In addition, the keyboard has its own version of Quickoffice, which is software designed to take the text from any document and convert it to Word. This includes bulleted and numbered lists as well as simple editing options.
The BlackBerry Priv also comes with its own version of Xbench, which allows you to view and edit PDF files. If you’re an editor of sorts who needs to edit PDF files on the go, then this is ideal. The BlackBerry Messenger is a fantastic way to chat with your friends. You can even send them images and short text messages from your phone. All of these options are included in this keyboard, but it also lacks a few basic features.
On the other hand, if you need to edit long, complex paragraphs of text, then this keyboard might not be for you. The BlackBerry Messenger supports threaded conversations, which is helpful if you want to send a message to one person but also want to keep discussing the subject with your colleagues. The BlackBerry Priv comes with a dialer, which allows you to call multiple numbers from your phone without having to type out each number individually. It’s convenient but doesn’t have all the capabilities that you’d find in more expensive smartphones.
The BlackBerry Messenger has limited storage space for text messages, but it does include plenty of room for photos and videos. You can synchronize your email between your BlackBerry and your email client. This means that all of your work can be shown to your clients, even if they are on another platform. This keyboard has all of the functions of the older models of smartphones. It provides text messaging and browsing similar to any other phone out there.
If you want to keep up with the latest news or events, BlackBerry Messenger is the best choice for you. The BlackBerry Priv is available starting at $400 for the basic model. The BlackBerry Malpractice keyboard offers the same functions and more, for a lower price. This keyboard is packed full of useful apps that you’ll find handy, no matter what your needs are. If you like to be able to customize your devices, then this is the keyboard for you.
