The “Daisy Jones & The Six” TV Show

The fans of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s “Daisy Jones & the Six” — the top-selling blockbuster novel published in 2019 are looking forward to an upcoming miniseries based on the novel, which will premiere on Amazon Prime Video this March. For those who love the novel, it’s been a long wait.

Let’s explain. In the story of “Daisy Jones & the Six,” the fictional group develops their masterpiece ’70s collection, “Aurora.” The book is an untrue oral account of how the group was formed and how it ended up falling apart at the peak of its power. Reid has an inventory of the songs and their lyrics at the end of the book.

“Aurora” is officially on the way, featuring songs sung by the show’s cast. “‘Aurora’ exists and it is a stunning, nostalgic, timeless album. Daisy Jones & The Six are real and they are better than my wildest dreams,” Reid declared in a video posted to Daisy Jones and The Six’s music streaming page. One track, “Regret Me,” was released with the release of the new trailer for the show on January 25.

The songs featured in the show aren’t identical to the ones Reid composed, including those with similar titles, like “Regret Me.” Reid was joking about being a genuine writer in an interview from 2021 in The Hollywood Reporter. I was like, ‘Oh, there’s going to be a song called something I called the song?'” In terms of writing songs, she says, “I’m way out of my league.” She said you’ll need someone capable of writing real, excellent music. And the group behind this show accomplished exactly that.

Atlantic Records said that that album’s production was helmed by Blake Mills, a Grammy-winning songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. Phoebe Bridgers, Marcus Mumford, and Jackson Browne have co-written credits on the album.
