Taylor Swift performed on the second night of her tour at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on April 14th, and she had some surprises prepared for the mystery song section. To start, she brought out Aaron Dessner, who had been spot at both Florida shows so far.
Together, they performed “The Great War” from Swift’s recent album, Midnights. Aaron Dessner expressed his honor at watching “the greatest performer on earth do the greatest show of all time” before introducing the song.
Swift joked during her introduction that the song had taken on a new meaning due to the jokes about getting tickets for the tour. She also mentioned that she was changing the tour rules so she could repeat songs from the album at future shows, saying that Midnights was the most accurate representation of her life to date and that she was in a Midnights mood.
Swift played “You’re On Your Own Kid” on the piano while the crowd sang along loudly, causing fans online to express disappointment at missing the best surprise selections of The Eras Tour so far. The good news is that there is a high probability she will play this song again, possibly even at her final Tampa date tomorrow.
