“4 Me” is the third single off of Don Toliver And Kali Uchis’

It’s Don Toliver second time working with his real-life partner.

DON Toliver and Kali Uchis are a real-life couple, so it makes sense that the two know how to collaborate. Their joint effort on “Drugs N Hella Melodies” from Toliver’s Life of a DON is sweet, seductive and cool, making it one of the best songs on the album. The pair also teamed up for an amazing song together on Toliver’s “4 Me,” which features one of Uchis’ first solo vocals since they grew close while working on Life of a DON.

“4 Me” is a nice little twist on an oldie, thanks to the addition of new vocals from Chris Brown. Produced by Wheezy and built around a sunny sample from dancehall legend Beenie Man and Mýa’s 2000 track “Girls Dem Sugar,” it’s a cute Valentine’s Day drop that plays like a summer jam.

First Verse

I’m like, “Whatever,” when she mad, the sex better

The rest of Toliver’s chorus is pure devotion to his girl. But no matter how much he tries, he cannot muster up the passion that she has shown him.

In the second verse, the couple hit the club and lose themselves in the music. It’s unclear whether they’re vibing to one of Don’s own songs or merely one of his favorites. Either way, it puts a smile on our face every time.

Uchi’s love for Mýa shows her true colors in this song. She is truly on Team Mýa, and all she wants to do is keep the two of them together.

On Friday, singer Toliver announced a brand new song, 4 Me. The song is slated to appear on his forthcoming Lovesick album, which is expected in May. In a tweet about the song, he promised a “big announcement” regarding the LP on Friday. As for the sound of his new project, Toliver recently told GQ that Lovesick represents the kind of music he’d ultimately like to make. “I’m just now getting to where I really wanted to be: futuristic R&B and soul,” he said.
