Logan may have passed away, but the Roy family continues to live on in Succession. With the media mogul’s sudden death, everyone is scrambling to figure out where they stand in the new order of things, including Kerry (Zoe Winters), Logan’s former assistant with whom he was also in a relationship despite being married to Marcia (Hiam Abbass).
In Season 4, episode 4 of the HBO series, Kerry appears at Logan’s residence in tears, but is promptly evict by Marcia. However, before leaving and while picking up her belongings from the floor. Kerry whispers something to Roman (Kieran Kulkin), who is also present.
So what happens with Kerry in episode 4?
After being in shock following Logan’s death in episode 3. Kerry seems like a different person when she arrives at Logan’s home in Succession episode 4. She stammers to a stony-faced Marcia, “Hi, I got your message but I just want to go…I have some things of mine upstairs I need.”
Marcia prevents her from leaving and instead hands over a bag of Kerry’s belongings, which promptly fall on the floor. When Roman goes to help a crying Kerry and asks if he has her private cell. She starts whispering to the youngest Roy sibling. It’s difficult to catch everything she says, but we can clearly make out the phrases “talking about getting married” and “he was making arrangements.” Kerry then asks Roman to check on her request, and he promises that he will.
What does Kerry’s whisper mean?
It seems pretty clear that Kerry’s message to Roman implies that Logan may have suggested getting married at some point, and that he was possibly making arrangements to do so. Kerry likely wants Roman to check if Logan had started any of the paperwork to divorce Marcia. Or if he had shared his plans with anyone else.
However, since Logan passed away before he could put his words into action. It remains unclear why this information even matters.
